About Dr. John J. Kaiwi
Pastor John Kaiwi serves as a devoted, humble shepherd and leader for Crossroads Baptist Church. With over a decade of faithful pulpit ministry across the Hawaiian Islands, he has consistently dedicated his life to teaching the Word of God, discipling believers, and pastoring communities with compassion. Through years of prayerful obedience, the Lord clearly guided Pastor Kaiwi, his wife Theresa and his ministry from Hawaii to Mississippi to expand his kingdom work, embrace a new congregation, and continue advancing the Gospel.
In addition to his practical pastoral experience, Pastor Kaiwi brings a strong foundation of biblical scholarship to his calling, having earned his Doctorate of Divinity from Omega Bible Institute & Seminary. His ministry is defined by a deep commitment to spiritual growth, community outreach, and steadfast obedience to God's mission—equipping the church body to live out their faith boldly each day.
Pastor's Journey
Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Pastor John J. Kaiwi was called by the Lord into dedicated ministry over a decade ago. Since answering that calling, he has poured his heart into preaching the Gospel and nurturing the spiritual growth of those around him, including serving as the faithful pastor of his own church in Hilo, Hawaii.
Beyond the traditional church pulpit, Pastor Kaiwi’s heart for servant leadership is demonstrated through his active outreach within the community. His passion for reaching people wherever they are has led him into homeless shelters, correctional facilities, elderly care centers, and onto street corners—bringing hope, encouragement, and the love of God to those who need it most.
